SHUNDAY MASH: HOW TO SHOOT YOUR WIFE WITH A RIFLE

Ladies, how much do you love your husband? Would you test out his patent on bullet proof glass by holding a pane of the glass in front of your face while he fires a rifle at you from a few feet away?

No?

Perhaps you just aren’t committed enough to this relationship then.

I found a gal who would do it …. but more of that later.

First:

INSPIRASHUN: 21 Pictures that Will restore Your Faith in Humanity. Check out the guy saving the drowning dog and the two guys rescuing the sheep. Awesome. This is a fantastic post, you’ve gotta see it!

RETRIBUSHUN: As the father of the two daughters I have to think that justice was done here. This father caught a man molesting his daughter. Here’s what happened. What do you think of this?

TREPIDASHUN: If you like a good ghost story, you’ll just love this post from Donna Russo Morin called The Ghosts of Lucedo Abbey.

CREASHUN: Does everyone have a novel in them? See what Moody Writing has to say about that.

WHATEVER IS THE OPPOSITE OF CONGRATULASHUNS: check out the Ten Worst Book Covers in the History of Literature. They are unbelievably bad. I found this via Jenny Hansen. At first I didn’t believe that The Big Coloring Book of Vaginas was a real book but apparently it is. See the rest of the list right here.

PERSONAL RELASHUNS: I really like this post from Emma Burcart about her dad and about adult relationships. There’s a lot of wisdom in it. Take a look here.

INDIGNASHUN: And I also liked this post by Alvarado Fraser about Karen Kline, the grandmother who was bullied on the bus. Like Alvarado I too admire Kare’s grace and dignity in an appalling situation. Read more about it at Alvarado’s blog here.

And as promised, here’s the lady testing out her husband’s bullet proof glass. Come on, who wouldn’t do this for the man in their life?

  1. RETRIBUSHUN is hard to read because of it’s subject matter. The father did what was necessary to save his child and showed that he valued life (however despicable it was) by calling for help for the perp. You can bet that perp has molested/raped before. I’m glad the father won’t be prosecuted.
Thanks for the mention of Karen Kline-the amazing 68 year old widow who showed incredible patience and grace under fire.

    • It is a tough story to read, Alvarado, I agree. Apparently he was really distressed on the 911 call, but how’s a guy going to control himself when he sees THAT happen. I think judges and our courts are not red-blooded enough about these monsters. And my pleasure in including Karen Kline in the mash - I think it was great that you dedicated a post to her.

  2. Loved the pictures. I don’t often see something that makes me smile that much. Loved that the rapist got what he deserved (though I would probably have removed part of his anatomy before beating him to death…dad’s aren’t the only ones who can be moved to violence on behalf of their children…and a mom who writes can come up with some creative ways to seek revenge).

Would I ever love a man enough to let him shoot at my head with only bullet proof glass between my face and the bullet. Nope. But I would be happy to let him hold the glass while I shot the gun. Only it would have to be a BIG piece of glass because God only knows where the bullets would hit. :)

    • Laughed out loud to your response to the bulletproof glass Kristy!

      • Unfortunately it’s a completely true statement. I’ve only shot a gun (a rifle) once when I was 16. I wasn’t impressed with the pain from the butt slamming into my shoulder. I wasn’t impressed with my little brother rolling on the ground laughing because I’d followed his instructions to the letter either. That being the case, I’m guessing my odds of hitting a target that small would be pretty slim. :)

  3. Loved the inspirational photos. They brought tears to my eyes.

Also loved the observation about the importance of Dad’s in a daughters choice of mate in the future. I totally believe that connection.

D’you know. After Mrs Bulletproof glass and her hubby finished their rifle testing, they went on home for a brew!

  4. Jenny Hansen says:

Colin - I thought I found crazy links! That bulletproof class? Nope, I’m sure not committed enough. (Nor do I trust my hubby to only hit the glass and not some part of my anatomy!)

Thanks for the mention…that BCBOV was crazy (see how I avoided the VaJayJay word on your blog?)! Not to be promoting, but I did a Part 2 to that post for the males at More Cowbell today. We’re killing ourselves in the comments section. :-)

    • Thanks Jenny, I’ll definitely take a look at part two as well! Now that BCBOV would never succeed as an eBook - you’d need a hard copy, if I can put it that way, so you could flaunt it on the bookshelf. I still can’t believe it’s a real book!
