Does it feel like you’re on a treadmill, day after day?
Ever wanted to get off?
I have a short collection of video clips to show you just how to do it. It may be painful in the short term, but isn’t it worth it?
but first: WOULD YOU CHANGE ANYTHING ABOUT YOUR PAST? Well, would you? I loved this post by Marcy Kennedy. We want to protect ourselves and the ones we love from pain. But would it really be for the best?
HAVE YOU READ FIFTY SHADES OF GREY? You may not have read it the way Ellen de Generes does. This is very funny - courtesy of Emma Meade.
WOULD YOU EAT SQUEEZE BACON OUT OF A PLASTIC BOTTLE? Neither would Piper Bayard. But you should see the commercial right here.
CAN YOU PRONOUNCE ISRAEL KAMAKAWIWO’OLE? Neither can I. He was the size of a mountain with the voice of an angel. Lynn Kelley pays tribute right here. If you’ve never heard him sing Over the Rainbow, then you must.
DO YOU REACT BADLY TO BOOK CRITICS? It’s best to just let it go. Really, I mean this - it’s best to just let it go. This is what happens when you don’t. Read it and weep.
HOW FAR WILL YOU GO FOR STIMULATION? Fifty Shades of Grey Matter from Psychology Today explores the options. Very funny
And finally, here’s how to get off the treadmill.
Please don’t try this at home.

Is this a new book? A diversification? Why don’t I think of these wonderful ways of communiocating, when here I am writing about a day in the heat raising money for Children in need - nothing exciting, just sweat and virtually no money. I need a leaf out of your book Colin to get o n the path to fame (and dare I say, money). So where do I get this book which sounds more of a bumpy ride than Silk Road.
LOL!
Good one, especially Ellen! Yep, I read 50 Shades before it was famous - reminds me of the old Victorian bodice rippers - love conquers all in the end!
Happy Monday!
Never read it either, CC. I would like Ellen’s audio version though!!
Colin, your Mash-Ups are always great!
I haven’t read 50 Shades and I probably won’t, but Ellen is a hoot!!
Thanks Jennifer. I loved Ellen’s version, too. Don’t think I could ever read the book with a straight face now.
Would I consume bacon out of a squeeze bottle? No. And if I wasn’t very clear there…NOOOOOOO!!!! My stomach started rebelling just watching the video. Yuck!
The other links were fun, but I loved treadmill video the most. After seeing another one last year, I quickly decided that my treadmill needed to be repositioned. Now the back of it was nowhere near a wall. While it’s fun to watch people breaking walls (and likely bones), I have no wish to experience anything like that myself.
I agree, Kristy, the treadmill video was very funny but only because I wasn’t one of the victims. I had a mate who was a war correspondent and he said that during the Balkans war there was a saying: ‘It’s only terrible if it happens to you.’ I guess that video is a bit like that!
Thanks for sharing my post. I’m really glad you liked it
I won’t be reading 50 Shades of Grey, but it’s so fun to see what other people are saying about it.
Your post was great, Marcy. A very close friend of mine has been asking herself that same question a lot lately and I thought what you said - and that song, which I hadn’t heard before - was spot on. As for 50 Shades, i think it’s now reached that critical mass where it’s famous for being famous.
Aw, what a wonderful surprise, Colin! Thanks for including my link. Ellen’s video had me laughing so hard, I cried. The other links are great, too. And the treadmill video? What a hoot. I’m a klutz as it is, so I better stay off those things! I love your mashup!
Thanks Lynn. I’m going to treat treadmills with a lot more respect after watching that video, too. Some of those pratfalls looked very, very painful.
Why is this a women’s only page - don’t men have anything to say. It is almost a Harem which brings an Opium to Colin’s existence as he walks the Silk road of his destiny. would love to hear cmments from fellas.
